New score to "Aleksandr Nevskij", a masterpiece of Soviet cinema, directed by Sergej Ejzenštejn in 1938. Music composed and produced by Giorgio Li Calzi (trumpet, vocoder and electronics) on a new editing of this movie (55'), cut by himself together with Kinoetika (Torino). About the video cut, Giorgio chose principally the epic and geometrical-constructivist scenes of the battle and the battle array. Obviously this work doesn't aim to compare with the work of Prokof'ev, who wrote the original music for the movie: it's simply a tribute to the people who resisted the foreign oppressors and chased them away through the eternal metaphor of Aleksandr Nevskij, the prince who in year 1240 led the Russian army to resist the Teutonic invasors.

Executive production (2005): Italian-Russian society Russkij Mir (Torino), in partnership with Museo Nazionale del Cinema di Torino.
Video production: Kinoetika (Torino).
