edit and adaptation Bram Stoker`s novel: Elena Canone
That’s Giorgio’s new reading direction, produced in 2007 from Circolo dei Lettori, Torino
2 characters, readers of their own diaries, a video designer who
moves an empty scene, a musician in charge of fill in, or ever better
to leave out all sounds: these are the elements who reproduce in real
timing through a sampled and stretched reduction of the original
reading of the novel. This non/action winds through an abstract and expessionist scenario,
to let the spectator slide subconciously into seeing himself in
between the lines, just as the prey/come/predator of Dracula's, who
falls subconciously under the spell of master.
Dracula signifies absence. Absence of life and death, just like the
non/presence of Dracula on stage, and the same stage elements, lights
and the movements of each character.
